Job Summary:
The Aircraft Technician I will perform or assist with inspection, maintenance, and repair of basic aircraft systems and structures under close supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform Basic Aircraft Inspections and Repairs: Conduct thorough inspections of aircraft systems and structures, and perform repairs and modifications as required.
- Assist with Aircraft Movement: Assist with the movement of aircraft as needed, ensuring safe and efficient handling.
- Complete Administrative Tasks: Properly complete CMP cards, work order sign-offs, and other paperwork in a timely manner.
- Ensure Quality Standards: Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications.
- Identify and Store Customer Property: Properly identify and store customer property and equipment, ensuring secure and safe storage.
- Operate Ground Support Equipment: Follow standard operating procedures when operating ground support equipment, including external power carts, hydraulic power units, and forklifts.
- Protect Customer Property: Ensure all customer property is properly protected and secured.
Additional Requirements:
- Material Tracking: Use the material tracking system to create parts demand and charge labor to work orders, items, and squawks.
- Waste Disposal and Shop Maintenance: Properly collect and dispose of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic and de-icing fluids, and solvent rags, and apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean and uncluttered.
- Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment, returning items to designated storage areas after use.
- Safety and Compliance: Comply with safety rules and procedures, use protective equipment as required, and be alert for unsafe conditions, addressing and reporting them before putting people or property at risk.
- Flight Testing: In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required.
Requirements:
- Working Knowledge: Working knowledge of FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures.
- Language Skills: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
