Aircraft Technician I Job Description

Job Summary:



The Aircraft Technician I is responsible for performing or assisting with inspection, maintenance, and repair of basic aircraft systems and structures under close supervision.



Key Responsibilities:


  2. Inspection and Maintenance: Perform basic aircraft inspections, repairs, and modifications under close supervision.

  3. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Properly complete CMP cards, work order sign-offs, and other paperwork in a timely manner.

  4. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications.

  5. Inventory Management: Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment, and store aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely.

  6. Equipment Operation: Follow standard operating procedures when operating ground support equipment.

  7. Customer Property Protection: Ensure all customer property is properly protected.


Additional Responsibilities:


  2. Material Tracking: Use material tracking system to create parts demand, and to charge labor to Work Orders, items, and squawks.

  3. Waste Management: Properly collect and dispose of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic and de-icing fluids, and solvent rags, and apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean and uncluttered.

  4. Tool Maintenance: Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment, and return items to designated storage area after use.

  5. Safety and Compliance: Comply with safety rules and procedures, use protective equipment as required, and be alert for unsafe conditions, addressing and reporting them before putting people or property at risk.

  6. Flight Testing: In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, may include flight tests on aircraft as required.


Requirements:




  2. Knowledge and Skills: Working knowledge of FAA regulations, process specifications, Repair Station and Quality Control manuals, and company policies and procedures.

  3. Language and Communication: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
