Job Title: Senior Accounting Manager

Job Summary:

Aston Carter is seeking a highly experienced Senior Accounting Manager to join our team. As a Senior Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for the direct management of a moderately large/complex accounting function and the accounting staff in support of that function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor department policies and procedures and recommend improvements; serve as a resource in all aspects of accounting.
  • Ensure that external document submissions and filings are accurate and timely.
  • Serve as a liaison between the company and external auditors and regulatory authorities.
  • Complete reports and analyses of departmental and area operations as requested by management.
  • Manage the preparation of daily, monthly, annual, and other periodic financial statements.
  • Responsible for the development, modification, and review of accounting systems, reporting methods and controls.
  • Ensure integration of data produced into systems and supports objectives of financial analysts.
  • Ensure the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and revenue in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the employment, training, motivation, and discipline of direct reports (may include support and/or professional staff members).
  • Assign, direct, and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient operations.
  • Ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory, and Company procedures.
  • Establish accounting plans, goals, and policies that are consistent with established company-wide goals.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
  • Apply principles of accounting to monitor and analyze financial information and prepare specialized reports.
  • Balance books and prepare accounting statements (i.e., profit/loss, income, cash flow, etc.) and schedule.
  • Record assets and liabilities and other financial transactions.
  • Maintain records of disbursements and expenses.
  • Review accounts and reports for accuracy.
  • May contribute to the design or modification of accounting systems.
  • Contribute to improving processes and procedures that accurately capture, track and report on financial transactions.
