Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at America First Credit Union. This role is responsible for the effective performance of assigned critical facility maintenance functions, including monitoring and maintaining electro-mechanical support systems, auxiliary power, cooling, electrical, heating, and fire/life safety equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain electro-mechanical support systems, including cooling, electrical, heating, and fire/life safety equipment.
  • Assist in the identification of any abnormal operations in any of the mission critical support systems and recommend corrective measures, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Track and record system efficiencies, performance, alarms, and maintenance on a computerized maintenance repair management system.
  • Assist in updating the auxiliary power, electrical system controls to maximize their efficiency and detail the operating parameters as needed.
  • Support minor preventative maintenance work on facility support equipment, including HVAC controls, pumps, gates, package air conditioning units, lights, and UPS systems.
  • Respond to all emergency events, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, guiding preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure all necessary systems are protected and sustained.
  • Review and coordinate scheduled cleaning work, including emptying wastebaskets, vacuuming, dusting, window washing, etc.
  • Perform and arrange scheduled preventative maintenance and cleaning, maintaining all electro-mechanical equipment associated with the Data Center.
  • Conduct inspections and tests, maintaining logs and records reflecting results, and visit each designated Data Center facility at least weekly to determine maintenance needs.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with Data Center management to ensure that buildings are maintained, clean, and secure.
  • Perform maintenance on all door locks, card readers, pin pads, door closers, etc., with Physical Security.
  • Perform minor building and furniture modifications or repairs involving carpentry, painting, wiring, and overhauling.
  • Coordinate and assist with outside service and repair work, hiring vendors and service providers as assigned, and follow-up on work reviews to ensure efficient completion.
  • Complete purchase orders for supplies as requested.
  • Complete assigned maintenance functions in accordance with established policies and procedures, ADA regulations, and OSHA regulations.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication, coordination, and working relationships with Credit Union personnel, management, vendors, and service providers.
  • Assist Credit Union personnel as needed.
  • Keep management informed of area activities, any significant problems or maintenance concerns.
  • Attend and participate in meetings as required, completing required records and reports.
  • Assist vendors and service providers as needed, monitoring their performance.
  • Oversee all landscaping, snow removal, HVAC/electro-mechanical equipment, janitorial, etc., with vendors.
  • Provide related information, advice, and suggestions to Credit Union personnel as requested.
  • Responsible for related duties required or assigned.
  • Perform miscellaneous and specially requested tasks, such as assisting other personnel in rearranging furniture, cleaning and storing equipment, and other jobs as assigned.
  • Assist in set-up of new equipment.
  • Complete assigned training and certifications.
  • First responders in case of emergency.
  • Coordinate multiple preventive maintenance projects.
  • Assist in the refurbish process of assigned buildings.
Requirements
  • AS degree or Trade School certification in electrical, HVAC mechanical systems, and/or equivalent 5 years of field experience in HVAC systems, electrical controls, and DC facilities management.
  • Certification in Data Center FM or Critical Systems is preferred, or equivalent facilities management experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Facilities operations experience in both CRAC or HVAC controls and aspects of auxiliary power systems.
  • Programming knowledge of PLCs and Building Management software systems.
  • Ability to work with computer systems, monitor and understand displays, adjustments, and make updates or modifications to mission critical building management and safety systems.
  • Conversant in Microsoft Outlook, JCI Metasys Controls, Spreadsheets, or equivalent software front-end control packages.
  • BASIC understanding of OSHA and ADA requirements.
Experience Required
  • 3-5 years of facilities operations and/or project coordination performed, preferably within a data center or equivalent.
Skills/Abilities
  • Good mechanical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Well-organized and able to work well independently.
  • Able to coordinate well with others in communication, planning, and coordinating.
  • Attentive to detail.
  • Able to operate drills, saws, electrical tester, hand tools, forklift, etc.
