Job Overview

Culinary Specialist Responsibilities:

The Culinary Specialist is tasked with the preparation of dishes, adhering to all sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards, along with the established food production protocols and procedures. This role also encompasses the responsible use of kitchen supplies and equipment to minimize waste and loss. The Culinary Specialist reports directly to the Executive Chef.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare menu items as requested by restaurant patrons
  • Ensure all prepared dishes meet quality standards and presentation specifications
  • Restock all cooking stations as necessary
  • Wash and sanitize all kitchenware and equipment
  • Adhere to personal hygiene and sanitation standards set forth by health authorities and the organization
  • Properly prepare, handle, and store food according to established standards
  • Maintain a tidy and organized workspace
  • Clean and care for equipment utilized in food preparation

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with kitchen health and safety regulations
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Capability to stand for extended periods, as well as walk, bend, and stoop

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior culinary experience

Work Hours:

The Culinary Specialist position can be either full-time or part-time, with hours subject to variation.

Compensation:

This position is classified as non-exempt and is compensated on an hourly basis.
