Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complex nuclear medicine imaging and laboratory procedures, developing and implementing new technologies, and providing instruction to medical staff and students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of complex nuclear medicine imaging and laboratory procedures
  • Develop and implement new technologies and procedures
  • Provide instruction to medical staff and students
  • Follow established radiation protection guidelines
  • Develop and implement quality assurance testing parameters
  • Develop policies and procedures for diagnostic studies and imaging areas
  • Conduct formal and informal continuing education/in-service programs
  • Supervise staff and students in specialized imaging areas
  • Coordinate planning and scheduling of diagnostic procedures and imaging areas
  • Requisition and inventory supplies for imaging areas and procedures
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) in nuclear medicine
  • Certification as a Nuclear Medical Technologist by the Iowa Public Health Department as documented by an Iowa Permit to Practice (IPP)
  • Reasonable (1-3 years) progressively responsible experience in nuclear medicine procedures and related computer applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
