Paramedic Knowledge Program Overview

The Baptist Health Louisville Knowledge Program is designed to support individuals in pursuing a career in healthcare as a professional Paramedic. This program provides tuition funds in the form of loan forgiveness to individuals who are enrolled or accepted into an approved Paramedic program.

Program Requirements
  • Be accepted and/or actively enrolled in an approved Paramedic program.
  • Hold a GPA of 3.0 or greater or successfully pass all classes with a "c" or better.
  • Provide two letters of reference from school instructors or employers
  • Provide a one-page document outlining why you need the Knowledge Program funds and how you will use them to obtain your Paramedic education and License.
Program Commitments

Knowledge Program money is generally used for tuition but may be used for appropriate school-related expenses (housing, books, study guides) at the recipient's personal discretion.

Participants in the program must agree to work for Baptist Health upon graduation from their program. For every $2,500 in Knowledge Dollars the graduate will be required to work 6 months full-time to forgive the loan.

Knowledge Program participants are taxed according to IRS guidelines regarding Loan Forgiveness. Once the participant begins work as a Paramedic the loan monies are taxed through installments in the payroll process.

Benefits

By participating in the Paramedic Knowledge Program, you will have the opportunity to work for a growing family focused on supporting clinical excellence, teamwork, and innovation. You will also be expected to comply with Baptist Health's infectious disease and vaccination policies, which include but may not be limited to compliance with BHS' mandatory vaccination policies for influenza and COVID unless reasonable accommodations are needed under applicable law.

Baptist Health is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
