SUMMARY OF POSITION:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Penn State Health, you play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care.   • Accurately documenting vital signs
  • Discussing health concerns with patients
  • Conducting tests and administering injections
  • Assisting with medical procedures and maintaining documentation

ABOUT PENN STATE HEALTH MEDICAL GROUP SURGERY SPECIALTIES:

This is a dynamic surgical practice supported by a dedicated team. The practice handles a high volume of services, necessitating a broad knowledge base and effective communication skills.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Shifts include various start times and are assigned on a rotational basis. The closing shift is staffed until all patients have been seen and necessary duties are completed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Current licensure as a practical nurse in the state of employment or a multistate LPN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required prior to completing orientation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

  • One year of experience in an acute or outpatient care environment is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand and sit frequently; walk regularly.
  • Capable of lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs. frequently; 11-50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Able to push/pull weights up to 20 lbs. frequently; 21-75 lbs. occasionally.
  • Occasional climbing and constant reaching required.
  • Proficient in hand use for simple and firm grasping.
