Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide high-quality patient care in the Neurology department at Penn State Health. As a key member of the healthcare team, the LPN will work closely with registered nurses and providers to deliver individualized care to patients with neurological conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing vital signs, and documenting patient information in the electronic medical record.
  • Observe and report any changes in patient condition to the registered nurse or provider.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families to educate them on their care and treatment options.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of employment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet patient needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
