Job Description

A Senior Analog Electronics Engineer is responsible for designing, specifying, developing, and testing analog electronics and requirements for a wide array of applications, including analog front-end, signal conditioning, analog-to-digital conversion, precision feedback systems, and dc/dc conversion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop analog electronics, including amplifiers, LDOs, comparators, mixers, phase-locked loops, and radiation-hardened designs.
  • Optimize system designs for low noise, performance, size, weight, and power.
  • Develop technical specifications for production and analyze hardware configuration and processing solutions.
  • Test hardware conformance to specifications and develop and maintain effective internal/external relationships.
  • Drive solutions to complex problems, develop requirements, and propose ways forward when customer requirements are unclear or incomplete.
  • Perform advanced architectures and designs for complex analog electronics and identify program/system-level technical risks.
  • Develop and execute mitigation strategies, manage multi-disciplinary tasks, and communicate status to project leadership and customers.
  • Develop, document, and teach best practices to less experienced engineers and demonstrate strong organization, planning, and time management skills.
Requirements
  • Knowledge in at least one of the following areas: low-noise electronics, analog-digital conversion, methods of synchronous detection, analog and digital signal processing, phase-locked loops, high-speed and precision amplifiers, discrete transistor level design.
  • Designing and troubleshooting analog electronics, proficient with schematic capture and printed circuit board layout.
  • Ability to perform circuit simulation using Spice or other simulation tools and system modeling and analysis experience using MATLAB, Simulink, or other comparable tools.
  • Understanding of applied math and physics, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to write detailed documentation.
Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field required, Master's Degree preferred. 5-7 years of experience in Analog Circuit Design or related.

Additional Requirements
  • Must be local to the Cambridge office and able to support flexible in-office work. Full-time remote employees will not be considered for this role.
  • Active clearance strongly preferred. Strong candidates will be considered without an active clearance but must be able to obtain a secret clearance upon starting this role.
