Position: Press Assistant Operator

Shifts Available:

6:00 AM - 6:00 PM, rotating

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the operation and preparation of the sheet-fed printing press.
  • Assist in the efficient startup and operation of the press.
  • Participate in the cleaning processes of the press, including washing blankets, blanket cylinders, and impression cylinders.
  • Ensure proper gum application on plates for seamless future use.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance tasks such as lubrication, roller inspections, and blanket preparations.
  • Calibrate equipment such as densitometers and pH meters in accordance with established procedures.
  • Exhibit knowledge of quality control procedures and adhere to standard operating protocols.
  • Provide thorough and accurate information during shift transitions.
  • Utilize data collection systems accurately as per management requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with supervisors and team members to enhance quality and operational performance.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Be available for overtime as required.
  • Understand and follow company and pressroom Standard Operating Procedures.

Working Environment and Physical Demands

  • Capability to lift, push, and pull weights up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to visually inspect work for quality and differentiate colors.
  • Frequent activities include reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, and stooping.
  • Manual dexterity required for repetitive tasks.
  • Regular walking and standing are necessary.
  • Exposure to chemicals may occur.
