Role Overview:
The Culinary Specialist is tasked with the daily preparation of a variety of cold food items in alignment with established menus and production requirements, ensuring the satisfaction of departmental and member needs. This role reports directly to the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare a range of hot and cold dishes while adhering to established protocols to prevent cross-contamination.
2. Maintain a high standard of food quality and presentation.
3. Follow recipes, menus, production sheets, and event orders while complying with sanitation standards and general guidelines.
4. Ensure proper cleaning, chopping, and preparation of fruits and vegetables, utilizing utensils and equipment correctly.
5. Manage specific kitchen stations such as grill, sauté, plating, and pantry.
6. Uphold cleanliness in the work area and maintain utensils used during food preparation.
7. Ensure all work areas, including steam tables and coolers, are sanitized.
8. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations, reporting any maintenance issues as necessary.
9. Assist fellow cooks during special events as required.
10. Maintain appropriate personal hygiene and appearance.
11. Report any hazardous conditions or incidents as needed.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of six months of experience in food preparation or relevant training.
- Safe Serv certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend written instructions.
- Effective communication skills.
- Capability to understand and follow recipes.
- Empathy, enthusiasm, and a passion for working with a diverse senior population.
