This role is responsible for managing a School Age program that delivers exceptional experiences for families and children, adhering to the highest standards in child care. The YMCA operates numerous School Age Learning Center locations that offer Before and After School Child Care as well as Summer Child Care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be present at the School Age site during operational hours to oversee, direct, and ensure compliance with child-to-staff ratios, actively engaging with children as needed.
  • Plan, execute, and oversee the daily functions of the School Age Learning Center Program.
  • Design and implement a curriculum tailored to various age groups, including planning engaging activities and field trips.
  • Ensure the School Age program operates in accordance with state and county licensing requirements and agency regulations.
  • Supervise Learning Center Leaders and Site Supervisors, providing guidance and support.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with parents regarding program updates and child progress, both in writing and verbally.
Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED

2. Minimum age of 20 years

3. At least one year of paid experience working with children in a licensed environment or youth organization focused on youth activities

Additionally, candidates must complete:
  • CPR/First Aid/AED Certification for Adults, Children, and Pediatrics within 90 days of hire.
  • 15 hours of basic childcare training through Child Care Aware within 90 days of hire.
