Key Responsibilities:- Assess and evaluate patient referrals from Behavioral Health Clinicians to provide comprehensive and appropriate care.
- Perform diagnostic assessments for patients referred to your care.
- Provide direct patient care services within your area of expertise, including medication management.
- Develop and implement treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Collaborate with Primary Care Physicians and Behavioral Health Clinicians to ensure a comprehensive continuum of care.
- Provide consultation and education to Primary Care Providers regarding patient treatment.
- Maintain a practice that is culturally and linguistically sensitive, using interpreters and other assistance as needed.
- Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and advocacy to patients and their families, taking into account their unique cultural backgrounds.
- Refer patients to specialists and other practitioners as necessary.
- Review patient charts to ensure that treatment plans are developed and followed.
- Collaborate with other caregivers to promote patient education and rehabilitation.
- Current Massachusetts licensure and certification in Adult Psychiatry; additional certification in Child Psychiatry is preferred.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced community health center environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
This position is located in a busy community health center in a downtown business district. Occasional long hours may be required, and rotating call responsibilities are part of the job. Potential exposure to patient blood and body fluids is a possibility.
