Job Summary

University of Toledo Physicians is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team in the Department of Orthopedics at the University of Toledo Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality medical care to patients, working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical care to patients, including diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions, developing treatment plans, and initiating and requesting laboratory and diagnostic studies as needed.
  • Work autonomously and in collaboration with physicians to manage patient care, including developing and implementing treatment plans, and providing education and support to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care, including communicating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with a Master's degree in an appropriate field.
  • State of Ohio licensure as a Physician Assistant, National Certification as a Physician Assistant, and BLS certification.
  • Eligible to obtain and/or maintain a Certificate to Prescribe/DEA.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
