Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Medical Care and Support
    • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions in patients, developing treatment plans and providing education and counseling as needed.
    • Assist physicians with medical management of patients, including rounding on patients and initiating, requesting, and performing routine laboratory, radiologic, and diagnostic studies.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Team
    • Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Document Patient Information
    • Document patient data in the medical record, including progress notes and other relevant information.
  • Monitor Patient Outcomes
    • Monitor patient outcomes and make changes to enhance quality of care as needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification
    • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
    • National Certification as a Physician Assistant.
    • State of Ohio Licensure-Physician Assistant.
  • Experience and Skills
    • Two plus years of experience working in a busy Level 2 Trauma Center.
    • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands
    • Must be able to work flexible hours, shifts, holidays, and weekends.
    • Tolerate a busy environment that requires constant interaction with patients, employees, students, residents, and physicians.
    • Requires prolonged walking and standing.
    • Occasional lifting of patients sometimes over 200 pounds.
  • Environmental Factors
    • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment on a daily basis.
