Maintenance Technician Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is a key member of our multifamily team, responsible for delivering exceptional service to our residents. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepares make-ready apartments, including painting, carpet repairs, cleaning, and general repairs, to ensure a high-quality move-in experience for residents.
  • Responds to resident requests in a timely and professional manner, providing solutions to maintenance and repair issues.
  • Maintains grounds, pools, hot tubs, common areas, and dog park amenities to ensure they are clean, operational, and safe for residents.
  • Performs maintenance as scheduled by the Maintenance Supervisor and reports any maintenance concerns on vacant units, models, and common areas.
  • Knowledgeable of state, local, and federal fair housing laws and adheres to all safety procedures and safeguards company tools and equipment.
Requirements:
  • Valid Driver's license, EPA 60- Minimum Type II and CPO or local city required certificate.
  • Ability to read and understand documents, such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.
  • Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions.
Work Environment:

This role operates in a professional office environment and requires regular travel between properties in varying weather conditions.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may need to stand and walk for extended or continuous periods of time.

They must be able to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools and may be required to travel outside between buildings in varying outdoor weather conditions.

The employee may also be regularly required to remain in a stationary position (sit or stand) for 85% of the time; regularly operate office machinery.

The employee must be able to travel up to 10% of the time. Travel may vary in frequency and duration.

The employee must demonstrate the ability to exert up to 100 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 100 pounds frequently, and/or up to 100 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
