Job Title: Aviation Maintenance Technician Instructor

Join the Aviation Institute of Maintenance team as an Aviation Maintenance Technician Instructor and play a vital role in shaping the future of aviation maintenance.

About the Role

As an Aviation Maintenance Technician Instructor, you will be responsible for providing instruction in aviation maintenance technology to students, ensuring they meet the requirements of the Aviation Institute of Maintenance and comply with FAA, State, and regulatory body regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach classes on a regularly scheduled basis, as assigned
  • Establish and maintain academic and attendance records for student files
  • Submit attendance, grades, student evaluations, and all other required documentation and reports per established procedures
  • Actively utilize proven student retention techniques approved by the school
  • Maintain a neat and orderly classroom or lab
  • Notify the Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, or Campus Executive Director of any current or potential problems that warrant attention
  • Attend in-service training seminars, as required
  • Complete performance-based teacher education modules as assigned by the Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, or Campus Executive Director, or as needed based on outcomes of classroom observations, instructor evaluations, and student completed surveys
  • Assist the Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, or Campus Executive Director in maintaining equipment used by students
  • Assist the Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, or Campus Executive Director in developing curriculum-related course materials and training aids
  • Perform and complete other tasks assigned by the Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, and/or Campus Executive Director
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED, and a preference for an Associate's Degree in a related field
  • Minimum three (3) years of hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance (special considerations will be given for more diverse experience)
  • Must be able to demonstrate a command of theory and practice, contemporary knowledge, and continuing study in their field
  • Ability to teach a diverse student body in a curricula-driven, compliance-oriented educational environment
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and able to multi-task in a timely fashion
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism
  • Highly motivated and goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Must have strong and effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service in an educational setting
  • Must be able to work independently and as a collaborative team member, with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills are required, with proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours outside of regular work shifts, including evenings and/or weekends as necessary or as requested by Supervisor
