Job Summary

Columbia, Missouri-based MU Health Care is seeking a skilled Clinical Quality Improvement Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the organization, you will play a vital role in improving clinical quality, patient safety, and risk management within the University of Missouri Health Care System.

About the Job

Assist with the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical and patient safety improvements through the UMHC system. Consistently apply continuous quality improvement methodologies to identify and design improvement strategies, assist multidisciplinary work teams, facilitate team progress, disseminate quantifiable results, and spread innovation across comparable areas.

Responsibilities

Assist with the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical and patient safety improvements through the UMHC system.
Consistently apply continuous quality improvement methodologies to identify and design improvement strategies, assist multidisciplinary work teams, facilitate team progress, disseminate quantifiable results, and spread innovation across comparable areas.
Ensure training for and integration of clinical quality, teamwork, and patient safety initiatives throughout all MUHC areas.
Meet governmental and regulatory requirements for quality of care and patient safety by staying current with relevant requirements and by assisting with survey processes as requested.
Participate in innovation and discovery related to care delivery, electronic medical record documentation, or other clinical quality and patient safety improvements, with external dissemination through presentations and/or publications.
Perform clinical quality, patient safety, and risk management surveillance, investigation, abstraction, review, and reporting.

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline.
Minimum three years of experience in clinical quality improvement or patient safety activities.
Must possess strong analytical, interpersonal, and communications skills, and work well in a team environment requiring a high degree of creativity and motivation.
