Position Overview
As a Campus Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and safety of the university premises. Your role is crucial in maintaining a secure environment for students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage access control by unlocking and securing entry points while conducting thorough inspections of all floors for any unsecured areas.
- Oversee the entry process into the facility and maintain an accurate sign-in/out log for all visitors.
- Monitor surveillance systems and radio communications, promptly notifying appropriate personnel of any equipment issues.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering phone inquiries and welcoming visitors, offering guidance and information as needed.
- Establish immediate communication with campus law enforcement in emergency situations and prepare detailed incident reports.
- Facilitate the acceptance and distribution of packages to designated areas or personnel within the building.
- Supervise and regulate access to secured parking areas as necessary.
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned locations to identify any suspicious activities, violations of rules, or other irregularities.
- Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED.
No prior experience is necessary for this position.
Candidates should have a basic understanding of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and simple mathematical concepts typically acquired through high school education.
A valid Texas Driver's License is required.
Must be available to work nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Proficiency in computer usage and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
Successful candidates will undergo a Criminal History check and must pass a Background Investigation prior to employment.
All applicants are required to complete the criminal history section of their application thoroughly.
Additional Information
Veterans are encouraged to apply and will receive preference in hiring over other candidates with similar qualifications.
Military experience will be considered only if it includes responsibilities related to Military Police or Security functions.
Salary will be determined based on relevant experience.
