We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Planned Parenthood of Illinois. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient-centered care and support to patients, including maintaining accurate medical records and performing routine clerical duties.
- Assist with basic lab work and respond to patient inquiries and needs, including fee assessment and insurance coverage.
- Work under the supervision of the Health Center Manager to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Participate in Health Center efforts to achieve medical visit efficiency and productivity goals, as well as fiscal goals in revenue, expenses, and contribution margins.
- Provide information, assistance, and support for patients facing emotional, family, and/or financial problems related to healthcare.
- Assist in the clerical and informational tasks related to proper follow-up of patients according to the protocols and procedures of PPIL.
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) required. Medical Assistant Certification or equivalent experience preferred.
- Previous professional experience with the provision of family planning services is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to be culturally inclusive.
- Ability to work a schedule that may include evening and weekend hours.
- Ability to travel to assigned Health Center, and to other PPIL work locations as needed.
- A competitive hourly rate of $20.15.
- A part-time schedule with Tuesday-Thursday hours.
