About the Role

Rivian is a pioneer in electric adventure vehicles, and we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Hardware organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of our vehicles.

Responsibilities
  1. Compliance and Testing: Review electrical and mechanical designs to ensure compliance with commercial EMC specs and real-world environments. Develop test plans for LV and HV Electrical and Instrumentation hardware and execute them effectively.
  2. Design and Analysis: Continue to develop EMI and electrical design, test, and analysis skills on-the-job. Identify and document ECU level susceptibilities to electromagnetic environments, including ESD, transients, radiated and conducted emissions.
  3. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with electrical and mechanical design engineers to develop ECUs within EMC specs. Define and validate ECU level electrical bonding/grounding/shielding specs.
Requirements
  • Education: BS or MS in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in automotive or similar industries.
  • Skills: Hands-on experience with electrical hardware and test equipment, basic circuit component knowledge, and ability to read complex diagrams.
  • Qualifications: Master's or Ph.D. in electrical engineering, RF circuit or antenna design, or applied electromagnetics. Experience designing power supplies or voltage/current regulators, transmission line design, and test planning for complex vehicles.

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
