Your Responsibilities:
Champion Safety.
Take initiative in prioritizing safety for yourself and your colleagues, ensuring that all assigned facilities operate without incidents and adhere to Vulcan's policies and procedures.
Plan and Organize Production.
Oversee the daily scheduling of plant operations to guarantee optimal use of equipment, workforce, and inventory, while managing processes related to extraction, processing, stockpiling, and distribution.
Accountable for comprehensive site planning and development.
Manage Team Dynamics.
Provide effective leadership, training, and support to all plant personnel to enhance operational efficiency.
Collaborate with Human Resources to recruit talent, administer performance evaluations, and implement employee development strategies.
Monitor Production and Quality.
Evaluate production metrics and quality control measures to ensure our customers receive superior products.
Review operational reports to promote best practices in extraction, processing, and handling to maintain product quality standards.
Establish and oversee a preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.
Ensure Compliance.
Foster a robust safety culture to guarantee adherence to Vulcan's operational and environmental policies.
Oversee employee health and safety initiatives to continually enhance Vulcan's safety performance.
Conduct Equipment Inspections and Repairs.
Assist in coordinating daily inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure safe and efficient plant operations, maximizing productivity while minimizing interruptions.
Qualifications:
Essential Skills:
Experience.
Prior supervisory experience in production, preferably within an aggregate, sand/gravel, or asphalt facility is preferred.
Leadership and Management Skills.
Ability to inspire and mentor team members, fostering positive relationships and motivating staff.
Operational Knowledge.
Understanding of rock and sand mining, ready-mix concrete, and/or asphalt operations, along with familiarity with MSHA regulations and quality control systems.
Interpersonal Skills.
Exceptional motivator and team builder, capable of forming strong relationships and effectively communicating with diverse audiences.
Financial Acumen.
Experience in leading financial performance to meet established targets and achieve operational goals.
Working Conditions.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and tolerate exposure to high noise levels.
