Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a highly skilled AH-64 E Maintenance Test Pilot to join our team. As a key member of our aviation team, you will be responsible for conducting maintenance test flights to ensure the airworthiness of aircraft following maintenance or modifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct test flights to evaluate the performance and handling of aircraft
  • Determine the airworthiness of aircraft prior to release for flight
  • Perform troubleshooting procedures on aircraft and make necessary repairs
  • Run-up aircraft for alert status and perform test flights on modifications
  • Interpret meteorological data and file flight plans for navigational courses
  • Compute weight and balance logs for aircraft
  • Communicate with military pilots and technicians to resolve issues
  • Support internal audits and corrective action requests
  • Conduct aircraft technical inspections and maintain technical libraries
  • Initiate and complete military flight and maintenance forms
  • Evaluate operational readiness of aircraft and recommend corrective action
  • Inspect crash-damaged aircraft and estimate repair time and costs
  • Ensure compliance with aircraft configuration control and Army oil analysis program
  • Evaluate maintenance operations and facilities for compliance with directives and technical manuals
  • Perform maintenance trend analysis and apply production control and quality control principles
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of aviation maintenance experience
  • 1,000 or more hours of total flight time, with a minimum of 300 hours in the same aircraft type and design, and 100 hours in the assigned AH-64 aircraft
  • Successfully completed Army Maintenance Test Pilots Course or complete an equivalency evaluation IAW AR 95-1 and 95-20
  • Must meet the experience requirements of AFR55-22, NOTAMS, AR95-10, AR95-20, and DCMA-8210
  • Completed military flight and applicable training courses as required IAW
  • Be proficient in flying operations of the assigned aircraft
  • Satisfactorily completed a proficiency check within the previous 12 months
  • Successfully complete an Army or FAA Class II flight physical
  • Possess an instrument rating on their FAA Commercial Certificates
  • Possess a current valid Army Upslip or FAA Class II Medical Certificate
Clearance Requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance US Government Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated proven and verifiable aviation experience, including ethics, ability, and professionalism
  • Must have demonstrated communication skills, both oral and written
  • Working knowledge of operating navigational and communication equipment installed on the aircraft
  • Capable of computing and annotating weight and balance logs for the aircraft
  • May be exposed to extreme noise, fumes, or airborne particles
  • May be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts and vehicles
  • May be exposed to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure
  • Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth
  • Must be able to see aircraft in flight, read dials/gauges, identify small objects, and hand tools
  • Must be physically capable of climbing vertical ladders or built-in aircraft steps to heights of 10-12 feet
