We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Mechanic I to join our team at Amentum. As an Aircraft Mechanic I, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces, and controls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces, and controls
- Read and interpret manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, and engineering data to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components
- Perform 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections
- Inspect jet engines and components for cracks, corrosion, foreign object damage, burned areas, distortions, security, warping, wear, and missing segments
- Test engine operation using testing equipment such as ignition analyzer, compression checker, distributor timer, ammeter, and jet calibration (Jetcal) tester
Requirements:
- Three years aviation maintenance experience
- Two years rotary wing aircraft experience
- Two years on the assigned Mission Design Series (MDS)
- A valid up-to-date A&P license is preferred but not required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a NACI(T1) Public Trust Security Clearance
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently lifts parts and equipment up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally lifts objects up to 50 pounds
Work Environment:
The work environment is moderately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The employee is exposed to disagreeable fumes and to cuts and bruises from using tools in close places and hazards of moving vehicles such as forklifts in the shop area.
