Job Title: Construction Foreman

Gibson & Associates is seeking a highly skilled Construction Foreman to join our team in Texas. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing a crew of 6-8 skilled and non-skilled employees, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hiring and developing a lead man
  • Hiring, developing, and training crew members
  • Organizing and planning daily work activities
  • Managing a crew of 6-8 skilled and non-skilled employees
  • Directly supervising and coordinating daily operations
  • Assisting with scheduling and supervising subcontractors
  • Promoting and complying with company safety policies and procedures
  • Reviewing contract plans, specifications, and project documentation
  • Assuming responsibility for the crew's performance
  • Monitoring quality of work daily
  • Performing jobsite orientations and mentoring for new crew members
  • Assisting with equipment utilization and maintenance
  • Coordinating equipment needs
  • Assisting with ensuring operators are properly trained or qualified
  • Preparing and submitting weekly time sheets for labor
  • Preparing and submitting daily progress reports
  • Assisting with reviews of daily work completed with onsite customer representative
  • Assisting with reviews of monthly pay application for accuracy
  • Preparing and submitting accident and/or injury reports
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry
  • A minimum of 2 years as a Project Foreman or Superintendent
  • Familiarity with equipment, materials, and methods used in the construction industry
  • Highway construction and maintenance experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to read and understand project-specific documents
  • Ability to organize records and prepare work and time reports
  • Ability to understand and efficiently follow directions
  • Ability to work under pressure and within established timelines
  • Ability to work with management to resolve issues
  • Must be knowledgeable of safety procedures and practices
  • Must be accustomed to working outdoors and in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to perform physical activities that may require climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, kneeling, bending, and handling materials, equipment, and tools
  • Must wear appropriate safety equipment as required by company safety policies
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen and e-verify
  • Must hold a valid driver's license
  • Must be willing and able to travel and work out of town
