Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Mercy Health. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and provide patient instruction to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
  • Apply principles of magnetic resonance safety to minimize risk to patient, self, and others.
  • Select and operate the magnetic resonance system, surface coils, physiologic gating devices, and associated equipment to achieve desired results.
  • Position patients and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability, safety, and comfort.
  • Immobilize patients as required for appropriate examination.
  • Select appropriate pulse sequences with consideration given to established protocols and other factors influencing data acquisition parameters.
  • Perform venipuncture, start and maintain venous access, and prepare and administer contrast media.
  • Verify consent/screening form, use appropriate scripting, barriers, and identifiers, and flex hours/shifts to meet the needs of the department.
  • Assist physicians with interventional procedures, practice aseptic technique, and observe universal precautions.
  • Evaluate images and data for technical quality, manipulate and reconstruct digital data for display, and ensure proper identification is evident.
  • Assume responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures.
  • Use radiology information systems, complete all required records and reports, archive, and submit images for physician review and interpretation.
  • Initiate basic life support action when necessary and provide practical instruction to partners and students.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited radiography or MRI program.
  • 2 years' experience as an MRI Technologist.
  • ARRT Radiography registration required.
  • ARRT MRI registration required.
  • Approved CPR or BLS certification required.
