PRESS OPERATOR ROLE OVERVIEW

  • Interpret and analyze job tickets with meticulous attention to film specifications and printing details.
  • Set up, configure, and maintain printing press machinery in line with company quality benchmarks and job specifications.
  • Execute all make-ready procedures, including the installation of cylinders, inspecting plates/cylinders for defects, verifying image alignment, adjusting tension and registration, and preparing ink requirements.
  • Implement necessary color adjustments and press modifications during production to uphold quality standards.
  • Oversee critical control points, ensuring artwork aligns with master samples/proofs, and monitor drying temperatures and press speed.
  • Manage raw material usage with a focus on minimizing waste.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance as advised by the equipment manufacturer.
  • Maintain documentation such as production usage logs and quality assurance records.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues causing press interruptions and malfunctions.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
