Job Summary

VCU Health - MCV Physicians seeks a skilled Critical Care Anesthesiologist to join our team. As a key member of our Department of Anesthesiology, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality anesthetic and critical care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide care to patients at VCU Health as assigned by the Department Chair or Chairs delegate, including pre-anesthetic evaluation, intraoperative anesthetic care, postoperative rounds, resuscitation and intensive care, therapeutic/diagnostic nerve blocks, and consultation in cases of chronic pain.
  • Direct the activities of nurse anesthetists as assigned by the Chair or Chairs delegate.
  • Provide bedside clinical teaching of residents, medical students, student nurse anesthetists and others, and participate in the didactic teaching programs of the Department at this institution.

Qualifications

  • M.D. or D.O.
  • ABA Board eligible/certified in Anesthesiology and/or certified eligible for Critical Care Certification.
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia.
  • Eligible for employment in the United States.
  • Good communication skills, clinical and teaching skills, and demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff and student environment.
