Job Summary

We are seeking a Board eligible/certified anesthesiologist with excellent communication, clinical, and teaching skills to provide high-quality patient care at VCUHS as assigned by the Department Chair or Chairs delegate.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide pre-anesthetic evaluation, intraoperative anesthetic care, postoperative rounds, resuscitation, and intensive care services.
  • Direct the activities of nurse anesthetists as assigned by the Chair or Chairs delegate.
  • Teach residents, medical students, student nurse anesthetists, and others in a bedside clinical setting.
  • Participate in didactic teaching programs and attend conferences, rounds, and staff meetings as required.
Qualifications:
  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited institution.
  • ABA Board eligible/certified in Anesthesiology and/or certified/eligible for Critical Care Certification.
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia.
  • Good communication, clinical, and teaching skills.
Estimated Salary:

$250,000 - $300,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
