Loss Prevention Supervisor - Wayfair

Position Overview

As a Loss Prevention Supervisor at Wayfair, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Store Leadership team to achieve organizational goals by overseeing all Loss Prevention initiatives and protocols within the retail environment. This essential position is responsible for ensuring the safety of our team members, customers, and store assets. Additionally, you will collaborate with law enforcement and other retail professionals to combat external theft and Organized Retail Crime.

Key Responsibilities

Enhancing Operational Efficiency and Profitability

  • Champion and embody company values related to customer experience through effective training and development of team members.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Loss Prevention Manager and store management to identify key priorities and formulate strategies for operational and profit enhancement.
  • Analyze critical metrics to pinpoint operational weaknesses and financial vulnerabilities, devising tactics for improvement.
  • Conduct ongoing training on merchandise protection, ensuring timely completion of certification programs and onboarding for new hires.
  • Review operational processes for compliance, including inventory management and cash handling procedures, and develop improvement strategies as needed.
  • Schedule and execute required audits related to asset protection, operations, and safety.
  • Perform weekly data analysis to identify trends and report findings to store leadership.

Theft Detection and Resolution

  • Investigate and document incidents of internal and external theft, ensuring compliance with legal and company policies.
  • Oversee case management and effectively handle multiple investigations simultaneously.
  • Monitor for signs of loss and report findings to the Regional Loss Prevention Manager.
  • Utilize surveillance equipment and reporting tools to identify suspicious activities and training opportunities.
  • Respond to and investigate all reports of dishonesty, conducting interviews and gathering evidence to support disciplinary actions.

Safety and Security Management

  • Conduct assessments of store security measures to ensure adherence to company policies and legal standards.
  • Maintain compliance with physical security protocols, including alarm systems and key control.
  • Ensure the safety of associates and customers in accordance with local regulations.
  • Review safety procedures and develop action plans in collaboration with store leadership.

Team Development and Leadership

  • Responsible for recruiting and training a skilled team of asset protection professionals.
  • Conduct orientation sessions and create development plans for team members.
  • Foster cross-functional partnerships with store leadership to enhance overall effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in loss prevention within a retail setting.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience is required.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Relevant experience in security, loss prevention, or law enforcement is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills and a reputation for integrity and professionalism.
