Position Overview:

Normal Lodging LLC is seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our Holiday Inn property. This role requires adaptability in scheduling, including evening and weekend shifts. The selected candidate will also take on the responsibilities of a Shuttle Driver, which requires a valid driver's license and a minimum age of 21 years.

Job Responsibilities: The primary focus of the Facilities Maintenance Technician is to ensure the property is clean, safe, and visually appealing. This includes a systematic approach to maximize guest satisfaction while adhering to budgetary guidelines. Responsibilities include maintenance, repairs, renovations, and overall property upkeep.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent guest service skills with a professional demeanor.
  • Strong time management abilities and the capacity to work independently.
  • Organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • General knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to minimize disruptions for guests.
  • Experience in operating small maintenance equipment.
  • Willingness to obtain CPO certification after hiring if required.
  • Previous maintenance experience is advantageous but not essential.

Key Duties:

  • Provide courteous assistance to all guests.
  • Perform tasks in a cost-effective manner while staying within budget.
  • Regularly inspect and ensure the proper operation of hotel systems.
  • Address guest concerns promptly and communicate solutions effectively.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems, HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of grounds, landscaping, parking areas, and guest accommodations.
  • Carry out various tasks such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, and more as necessary.
  • Manage inventory and maintain supplies.
  • Ensure all areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • Familiarize oneself with the property to efficiently respond to guest inquiries.
  • Follow hotel safety and security protocols to ensure the welfare of employees and guests.
  • Transport guests in a friendly and secure manner.
  • Report any significant issues to the supervisor promptly.
  • Perform any other assigned tasks as required.
