The Medical Records Coordinator will be the key individual responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of both electronic and paper medical documentation within designated Adult Day Health Centers. This role includes assessing medical records to ensure they meet the compliance standards established by relevant regulatory bodies, including the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
This position encompasses a variety of administrative and technical responsibilities aimed at safeguarding the precision, accessibility, and confidentiality of patient health information.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the management of medical records to ensure compliance with documentation and licensing requirements.
- Conduct regular evaluations of records for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate the proper handling of patient information.
- Utilize software tools such as Power BI, SharePoint, Excel, and EHR systems to manage health information effectively.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
- Proficiency in relevant software applications.
- A solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- A valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent; post-secondary training is preferred.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical records or healthcare-related administrative roles.
- Prior experience with electronic health records (EHR) is essential.
