Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the City & Borough of Juneau, AK. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the public, and upholding the laws of the land.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct patrols on foot, bicycle, or in a police car to observe activities and maintain a visible presence in the community.
  • Respond to emergency calls, investigate crimes, and take necessary action to enforce compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Interact with the public, provide assistance, and resolve conflicts in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least 21 years of age; U.S. citizen or national required.
  • Valid Alaska driver's license required; must be able to pass a background check and polygraph examination.
  • One year of experience as a police officer or in a related field; lateral applicants must have at least one year of uniformed patrol duty and certified academy training.
