Armed Security Training Specialist

MaxSent is seeking a dedicated Armed Security Training Specialist to enhance the capabilities of our personnel in accordance with the FPS-AK contract.
The ideal candidate will possess a high level of integrity, demonstrate sound judgment, and maintain a professional demeanor. This role will report directly to the Contract Manager and will encompass the following responsibilities:
- Design and implement comprehensive training programs for both new hires and existing staff.
- Facilitate On-the-Job Training (OJT) in line with NWDTP and contractual obligations.
- Administer Overt training sessions and evaluations.
- Prepare and submit the Screening Operation Assessment Report (SOAR).
- Assess and document training activities to ensure program effectiveness.
- Develop targeted training initiatives to enhance employee skills; create alternative training strategies if necessary.
- Compile and curate training manuals and educational materials, including handouts and visual aids.
- Deliver training through diverse instructional methods such as role-playing, simulations, group discussions, and multimedia presentations.
- Review and evaluate training resources prepared by other instructors.
- Conduct quality assurance evaluations during firearms training sessions.
- Provide instruction to enhance marksmanship skills for both new and current employees.
- Deliver training on x-ray and metal detector screening for Protective Security Officers (PSOs).
- Conduct monthly assessments of each screening post.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Minimum of two years of experience in training within civilian law enforcement, military law enforcement, or commercial security services.
- Completion of an accredited Firearms Instructor course (e.g., NRA, Police Academy, State POST Academy, FLETC, or military training) is required.
- Must hold certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED, Defensive Tactics, Handcuffing, Baton, OC Spray, and Firearms Instruction.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary instructor certifications.
- Must be eligible for U.S. Government suitability for contract work.
- Completion of the Federal Protective Service National Weapons Detection Training Program is mandatory.
Note: This position may require statewide and occasional interstate travel.
