As a Patient Care Technician, you'll play a vital role in our Critical Care department, providing direct clinical and support services to our patients. Under the direction of our registered nurses, you'll work cooperatively with the healthcare team to ensure a safe, clean, and equipped environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Your responsibilities will include performing delegated patient care interventions, such as obtaining vital signs, bathing and feeding, dressing wounds, and assisting with hygiene. You'll also contribute to the efficient operation of the Critical Care department, ensuring quality patient/family clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct clinical and support services to patients in the Critical Care department
  • Perform delegated patient care interventions, including vital signs, bathing, and feeding
  • Assist with hygiene and dressing wounds
  • Contribute to the efficient operation of the Critical Care department
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or GED certificate
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS), including CPR certification
  • Ability to pass clinical competency testing
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
  • Basic math and computer proficiency
  • One of the following:

    One year of previous experience as a Patient Care Technician in an acute hospital setting

    Currently enrolled in a nursing program and have completed two cycles of clinical rotation

    Completed an approved Patient Care Technician training

    Completed an approved certified medical assistant training

    One year of previous experience as an EMT or field medic (considered for adult ED positions only)
