Job Title: Emergency Department Technician

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a skilled Emergency Department Technician to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct clinical and support services to patients and their families in our Emergency Department.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of delegated patient care interventions, including obtaining vital signs, bathing and feeding, dressing wounds, and emotional support.
  • Contribute to the efficient operation of the Emergency Department, ensuring quality patient/family clinical outcomes.
  • Perform environmental and inventory activities to ensure a safe, clean, and appropriately equipped environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS), including CPR certification.
  • Ability to pass clinical competency testing.
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
  • Basic math and computer proficiency.
  • One of the following: one year of previous experience as a Emergency Department Technician in an acute hospital setting, currently enrolled in a nursing program and have completed two cycles of clinical rotation, completed an approved Emergency Department Technician training, or one year of previous experience as an EMT or field medic (considered for adult ED positions only).
  • Fluency in another language a plus.
  • Previous medical/surgical experience preferred.
