Job Title: Part-Time Sub School Nurse

We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Part-Time Substitute School Nurse to provide essential healthcare services in the absence of the regular school nurse.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, be able to work independently, and have a genuine interest in promoting the health and well-being of students within a school setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct health assessments and screenings as needed.
  • Evaluate students with acute or chronic health conditions.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide first aid.
  • Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement emergency response plans.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for students and staff.
  • Promote health and wellness through educational initiatives.
  • Conduct health-related presentations and workshops for students and staff.
  • Provide information on preventive measures and healthy lifestyles.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential health records for students.
  • Document health assessments, treatments, and communications with parents/guardians.
  • Communicate effectively with the regular school nurse to ensure continuity of care.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other school personnel regarding student health issues.
  • Collaborate with the school administration to address health-related concerns and implement health policies.
  • Collaborate with school counselors, psychologists, and other support staff to address students' overall well-being.
  • Work as part of a team to ensure a healthy and safe school environment.
Requirements:
  • Valid CPR and AED Certification.
  • Registered nurse (RN) Certification is required.
  • A current and valid Missouri Certified Nursing License is required. In good standing with the Board of Nursing.
  • Minimum of three years of nursing experience in community health, pediatrics, emergency care and triage, psychiatry, and/or physician's office preferred.
  • Bilingual ability; English required and Spanish preferred.
  • A driver's license is required for student transport.
