Physical Therapist Assistant - Per Diem

Job Summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant is a vital member of our rehabilitation team, providing essential therapy services to patients under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist. This role requires a strong understanding of physical therapy principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and documentation skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in implementing treatment programs for assigned residents, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of progress.
  • Enter billing information in a precise and timely manner, adhering to facility policies and procedures.
  • Report resident progress in meetings, such as UR Meetings and Patient/Family Conferences, as required or deemed necessary.
  • Collaborate with other rehabilitation team members to coordinate physical therapy with other therapeutic activities.
  • Provide residents with necessary equipment and inform Social Services of equipment needs at discharge.
  • Design and construct special equipment for individual residents and suggest adaptations to their living environment.
  • Work with the Director of Rehab to request supplies and equipment, ensuring seamless delivery of services.
  • Lay out materials for individual use and return equipment to designated areas.
  • Conduct training programs for other workers and families in physical therapy techniques and objectives for resident care.
  • Chart notes in an informative and descriptive manner, reflecting the therapy provided and the resident's response.
  • Perform routine documentation as required, adhering to established charting and documentation policies and procedures.
  • Cooperate with all departments and staff to promote harmonious working conditions and optimal resident care.
  • Follow established safety procedures and precautions, observing and reporting hazardous conditions for correction.
  • Respect resident rights as defined in the facility, ensuring confidentiality and dignity.
  • Report all grievances and complaints made by residents, maintaining a written record of actions taken.
  • Adhere to all facility and department policies and procedures, ensuring HIPAA and Corporate Compliance requirements are met.
Requirements

Candidates must possess the physical ability to perform job-related duties, which may require lifting, bending, stooping, stretching, pulling, and pushing up to 50 lbs or more as needed.

Pay: $33.53/hour
