Job Title: Unit Counselor-Driver

At Institute for Community Living, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Unit Counselor-Driver to join our team. As a key member of our residential program, you will provide essential support to our residents, ensuring their well-being and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct care and support to residents, including counseling, guidance, and advocacy.
  • Operate and maintain vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to defensive driving practices.
  • Assist residents with daily tasks, such as meal preparation, cleaning, and transportation.
  • Document resident interactions, progress, and concerns, maintaining accurate and confidential records.
  • Collaborate with program staff to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a residential or mental health setting, with a focus on counseling and support.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathy and compassion.
