About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sponsored Research Consultant to join our team at the Georgia Institute of Technology. As a key member of our research administration team, you will play a critical role in supporting the College of Sciences in its research endeavors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate sponsored research pre-award activities, including proposal development, budgeting, and submission.
  • Provide expert advice on sponsored research plans, proposals, and projects to school business operations management.
  • Plan, direct, and monitor activities of grants administration and/or grants accounting staff responsible for sponsored research support.
  • Liaise with management and staff within the Office of Sponsored Programs and Grants & Contracts Accounting regarding sponsored research grants and contracts issues.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three to five years of job-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Research Administrator, Certified Pre-Award Research Administrator, or Certified Financial Research Administrator.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience in submitting all types of proposals (NSF, NASA, NIH, Simons Foundation, DOE, ONR).
  • Knowledge of Research.gov, Cayuse, NSPIRES.
  • Ability to create complex budgets.
  • Use of Workday.
  • Understanding of the lifecycle of an award.
  • Knowledge of 2 CFR 200.
