Job Overview

As a seasoned Engineering Manager, you will lead the Product Launch Engineering and Process Engineering teams in developing manufacturing processes to support growth with new customer programs and continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safety is a top priority in the development of all new products and processes, providing leadership to the engineering team to ensure all safety policies and procedures are understood and followed.
  • Lead the engineering team to ensure manufacturing processes are accurately developed and implemented to meet quoted rates and costs, while aligning with current manufacturing capabilities, and drive continuous improvement efforts to improve rates and costs.
  • Oversee the part launch process (NORP) to ensure timely execution, providing the necessary manufacturing lead-time to support on-time delivery of customer orders.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Development Engineering Teams to ensure design for manufacturability requirements and current manufacturing capabilities are understood and considered in estimates and processes.
  • Provide direction and make recommendations for equipment purchases to support customer growth and improvement projects, and may be asked to lead efforts to present business cases to senior management.
  • Advise and direct the incorporation of lean concepts in all process development.
  • Lead and manage large process improvement projects as necessary.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to support organizational strategy, improvement, and growth.
  • Coach and mentor associates for continuous support for personal and organizational growth, as well as core values.
  • Perform associate reviews at designated intervals.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Lead a team of 5-8 associates, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline, with 5-7+ years of experience in a sheet metal environment and supervisory experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and a strong working knowledge of Solidworks. Excellent documentation, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and writing skills, as well as foundational knowledge in Operational Excellence Principles (Lean-Six Sigma). Excellent communication skills for internal and external contacts, with the ability to present a positive ownership attitude towards work responsibilities.
