Supervisor Plumber

The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor Plumber to join our team. As a key member of our plumbing department, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of plumbers and helpers in assigned boroughs.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and Coordinate Plumbing Work: Oversee the work of plumbers and helpers in assigned boroughs, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Abate Emergencies and Schedule Repairs: Respond to emergency situations and schedule repairs for residents and public spaces, providing technical assistance as needed.
- Conduct Field Inspections: Conduct regular field inspections to ensure that work is being performed to the highest standards.
- Review Work Orders and Create Material Orders: Review work orders and create material orders to ensure that all necessary materials are available for projects.
- Perform Quality Control Inspections: Conduct quality control inspections of shops and work sites to ensure that work is being performed to the highest standards.
- Estimate Job Requirements and Specifications: Estimate job requirements and specifications, and work with Capital Projects and developments to abate emergencies and review plan specifications.
- Review Blueprints and Attend Pre-Bid Meetings: Review blueprints and attend pre-bid meetings for contract work, ensuring that all necessary details are understood.
- Perform Administrative Duties: Perform administrative duties, including maintaining records and reports.
- Seven Years of Experience: Seven years of recent, satisfactory, full-time, paid experience as a plumber, at least two years of which must have been spent in duties of a supervisory nature.
- Equivalent Experience: A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
