Key ResponsibilitiesGrantmaking Process Management
- Oversee the grantmaking lifecycle for designated programs, ensuring compliance with organizational values and regulatory standards.
- Provide support to foundation staff and grantees by addressing inquiries regarding pre-grant requirements and guiding them through the grantmaking process.
- Evaluate incoming grant requests, ensuring accurate integration of application data into the grant management system.
- Conduct preliminary due diligence and advise program staff or grantees on compliance protocols.
- Facilitate grant proposal meetings and prepare necessary documentation for program team evaluations.
- Ensure completeness of application materials and maintain communication with applicants as needed.
- Collaborate with reviewers to finalize the grant assessment process, ensuring accuracy and thorough financial evaluations.
- Assist in developing learning plans for grantees in collaboration with program staff.
- Compile grant information for quarterly board presentations.
- Process grant approvals, agreements, and payment documentation.
- Manage the reporting process for grantees, reviewing submissions and coordinating with the program team on follow-up actions.
Budget Management
- Ensure adherence to the annual grantmaking budget and effective cash flow management.
- Develop systems for tracking grant payments throughout the fiscal year.
- Prepare and authorize documentation for regular grant disbursements.
- Maintain ongoing communication with program teams regarding budget status and projections.
Collaboration and Support
- Provide expertise on grantmaking processes and equitable practices to enhance operational efficiency.
- Identify training needs among staff regarding funding procedures and facilitate necessary training sessions.
- Work with the Grants and Program Operations team to enhance data collection and utilization.
- Prioritize grantee needs and respond promptly to inquiries throughout the grantmaking process.
- Explore innovative approaches to grantmaking, including equity-centered practices and adaptive strategies.
- Coordinate with the communications team to ensure accurate public-facing information regarding grantmaking initiatives.
