Cafeteria Dishwasher Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Cafeteria Dishwasher at the Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School. This part-time position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our cafeteria and kitchen areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate the pot washer machine to ensure efficient and effective cleaning of dishes and utensils.
  • Hand wash and sanitize pots, pans, and small wares used in food preparation and delivery.
  • Load and unload soiled and clean dishes, ensuring proper storage and organization.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and cafeteria areas, including sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Report any equipment breakdowns or maintenance needs to the Cafeteria Manager.
  • Assist with ordering and inventory of cleaning supplies and chemicals.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Working Environment:

This position is located in a school cafeteria and kitchen environment, with moderate noise levels and frequent interactions with students, staff, and teachers.
