Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to serve as the Coordinator of Youth Ministry for the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive youth ministry program that fosters the spiritual growth and development of youth in grades 7-12.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development
    • Design and implement a youth ministry program that aligns with the mission and vision of the Catholic Diocese of Fort Worth.
    • Develop and implement a catechetical framework that utilizes the four pillars of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
  • Youth Engagement
    • Provide opportunities for youth to develop and practice their faith through various activities and events.
    • Offer opportunities for service and outreach that help youth understand their role as a disciple of Jesus Christ in the spiritual and corporal works of mercy.
  • Leadership Development
    • Provide opportunities and mentorship to youth in leadership roles so they may learn to be disciples of Christ.
    • Develop and implement a process for recruiting, training, and supporting parent and adult volunteers to serve as youth ministers.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Collaborate with the Department of Catechesis and Evangelization to ensure alignment with the diocesan vision and mission.
    • Communicate effectively with parents, youth, and other stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and supportive community.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Manage the planning, development, and implementation of First Eucharist and Confirmation preparation for youth grades 7-12 eligible for the sacrament.
    • Oversee the creation and implementation of a catechetical calendar for growth in evangelization for youth grades 7-12.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in education, catechesis, or theology, or a related field.
    • At least 1-3 years of experience in youth ministry or a related field.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Knowledge of Catholic doctrine, structure, functions, sacraments, rites, and liturgies.
    • Knowledge of Catholic Youth Ministry, Evangelization, and Catechesis.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work nights and weekends with occasional overnight stays.
Working Conditions

The Coordinator of Youth Ministry will work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team setting and communicate effectively with parents, youth, and other stakeholders.
