Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing medically prescribed radiographic and CT procedures using computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues.
Key Responsibilities:- Accurately interpret physicians' scanning instructions and administer contrast materials as needed.
- Prepare and operate CT scan equipment to capture high-quality images.
- Position patients to ensure optimal image quality.
- Effectively assess patients' information and status, and follow appropriate procedures accordingly.
- Use standard procedures to identify the correct patient and review patients' requisitions to understand the type of exam required.
- Consult policy and procedure manuals and/or other reference materials as necessary to ensure actions conform to established protocols.
- Follow special instructions indicated on radiographic requisitions and recognize the need for and follow isolation precautions.
- Independently implement patient procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
- Solve problems that arise during patient examinations using both technical knowledge and innovation.
- Certificate from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
- New York State license or temporary permit to practice Diagnostic Radiology.
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART).
