Senior Controller Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Controller to lead our Accounting, Legal, IT, Risk Management, and Aviation divisions. As a Senior Controller, you will be responsible for shaping the strategic direction and planning within these key divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead division areas of responsibility and strive for excellence in all areas.
  • Think big picture and actively participate in creating change and improvements within the department and company.
  • Develop and support staff to strive for excellence.
  • Challenge self and team to approach work with creativity and innovation.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all associates and external partners.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Active CPA license highly desirable.
  • Profound knowledge of accounting and tax practices.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.

Additional Expectations:

  • Strong knowledge of current accounting principles and tax rules and regulations.
  • Understanding of internal controls necessary to ensure safety of all company assets and business entities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, with knowledge and experience in working in Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains preferred.
  • Ability to explain complex financial matters in a clear and understandable fashion.
  • Comprehensive financial planning experience, including budget reviews and financial planning and analysis.

Education & Training:

  • Bachelor's degree (master's preferred) with a major in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • Active CPA license strongly preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7-10 years accounting and financial management experience; 5-7 years in a senior level position.
