Position Summary:
We are seeking a Manager, E&S Claims to lead and supervise the Excess and Surplus Lines Claims team. This role is crucial in ensuring that all assigned Excess and Surplus Lines Liability claims are managed promptly, effectively, and in compliance with state regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish work objectives and manage team workloads and deadlines. Evaluate procedures, workflows, and time management to identify potential issues and enhance efficiency.
  • Set accurate and timely loss and expense reserves in accordance with claims guidelines. Authorize claim denials, reserve adjustments, and other related actions while adhering to established authorities.
  • Develop strategies for litigation and file disposition, directing defense counsel throughout all phases of litigated cases using appropriate management controls.
  • Analyze reports and various resource tools to identify trends, tracking results to align with division and corporate objectives. Prepare comprehensive reports on claims activities.
  • Review selected active cases within the E&S Claims Team, assessing status and direction while providing guidance for effective file management and resolution.
  • Address service issues directly with agents or policyholders, including conducting personal visits and file reviews as necessary.
  • Investigate and resolve procedural and coverage inquiries from various stakeholders, including the Division, Department of Insurance, claimants, policyholders, and agencies.
  • Conduct regular file reviews in accordance with claims guidelines, ensuring accurate reserve assessments by supervisors and adjusters.
  • Oversee and manage DCC and A&O expense utilization within the scope of responsibility.
