Job Title: Lighting Technician

We are seeking a skilled Lighting Technician to join our team at M.C. Dean, Inc. in Baltimore, MD.

Job Summary:

The selected candidate will be responsible for electrical lighting maintenance, including changing bulbs, ballasts, and drivers on existing lighting fixtures. This role requires working from aerial lifts and interacting with customers to resolve lighting issues in a professional and safe manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic lighting components.
  • Install and mount lighting controls, devices, sensors, and components.
  • Operate aerial lifts and bucket trucks safely.
  • Test lighting systems and continuity of circuits in fixtures using testing devices.
  • Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine materials requirements and installation procedures.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning lighting systems and components using test equipment and hand tools.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED with at least 6 years of related experience.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Must pass a background check and drug test.
  • Must be committed to excellence and generate high-quality work.
  • Must consistently report to work on time and maintain a safe work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • OHSAS 10 certification.
  • Other relevant certifications (e.g., Lift/Aerial Training).
Physical Abilities:
  • Lift at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period.
  • Relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Work at various heights up to 60 feet and climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
  • Walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  • Possess good vision (may be corrected) and the ability to see in color and hear and communicate in English.
